Oregon Quarantine and Pest Information
Oregon Grape Quarantine
The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) updated its
grape quarantine rules in 2010 and added vine mealybug and the
European grapevine moth to the already listed grapevine fanleaf
virus, grapevine leafroll associated viruses, corky bark and
phylloxera. The quarantine places restrictions on the importation
of all parts of the grapevine into Oregonincluding the harvested
fruit. The ODA has provided a letter for use by Oregon
winemakers in communicating the requirements of the quarantine to
California winegrowers prior to importing grapes.
Oregon and Washington Grape Compliance
Agreement
Just prior to harvest in 2010 the Oregon Department of
Agriculture (ODA) and Washington State Agriculture Department
(WSDA) officials signed
an agreement allowing harvested grapes to be imported into
Oregon without the accompanying phystosanitary certificate
stipulated in the above mentioned Oregon Grape Quarantine. All
other grapevine plant parts however, must adhere to the Oregon
Grape Quarantine.
