Oregon Wine Board Wine Quality Program

The Oregon Wine Board has created its Wine Quality Program to increase the quality of Oregon wines. There are two parts to this program; Quality Advisors and The Quality Forum.

Quality Advisors
In each region, experienced winemakers have generously agreed to serve as quality advisors. If you have a wine related problem that has you stumped they will try to help. If they are stumped they will rely on the entire team of quality advisors to help solve the problem. There is no cost to you for this service. Obviously these folks are busy so they can’t make your wine for you but they will give you their advice or point you in the right direction. We are looking for more advisors. If you are interested in serving as an advisor, please email Steve Girard.

OWB Quality Forum

The OWB has also initiated a Wine Quality Forum. This is an open quality forum under the OVID website. Here, you can ask, answer or comment on all sorts of quality issues. Quality advisors will periodically monitor the Forum as will enology educators and ETS professionals. Although you will need to log on and enter a password, all forum contact may be anonymous.  We believe that winemakers around the world will teach and learn; help and be helped on issues of wine quality. The forum will be divided into subjects to make navigation easier. As postings increase the subjects will be increased.

ETS Labs
ETS laboratory is a great resource for wine quality issues. They can help not only with identification of the problem but with the solution. ETS is located at 1819 NE Baker in McMinnville. Call Corey at 503.472.5149.
